A movement of the gospel,

for the good of New York City.

Services: Brand, Messaging, Print, Strategy, Video, Web

In the last 27 years, attendance of gospel-teaching churches in New York City has risen from less than 1% to 5%. A Gospel movement has been on the rise. But Redeemer Presbyterian Church recognizes that the story isn’t over

Their vision is to see an entire city renewed by the gospel, and to reach a tipping point for the city and the world. They needed to raise money—but even more than that, they wanted to mobilize people as ambassadors of the vision.

We were privileged to work hand-in-glove with Redeemer for seven months to shape the narrative, brand, and communications strategy for this $40 million campaign.

Working with them, we helped to give song and story to their vision. Together, we decided on the name ‘Rise’, keeping aspiration and a call-to-action at the forefront.

We crafted a visual identity that represents the three-part call for new leaders, churches, and buildings—and the most important part: YOU, represented by a red location pin, because Rise is about activating everyone into new service and ministry from right where they are.

We created a commitment card that presents the needs and calls on the Redeemer-ite to rise.

The Rise website was designed both to tell the story of the campaign, and to guide people to commit to the vision.

(Visit the website we designed at rise.redeemer.com.)

Using stories of real New Yorkers, we showcase the need for everyone at Redeemer to rise and say “I’m in” to pray, engage, and give as part of a gospel movement for the good of the city.

In addition to the website and print materials, we created a short animated video to introduce and invite people into the campaign.

Every piece was created for Redeemer Night, where 3,000+ people were invited into a vision that marks a defining moment for their church and their mission to serve New York City.

The Rise book details the vision and plan that Redeemer is pursuing and invites people to interact with the book and reflect on their role in the campaign.

Following Redeemer Night, we created a number of resources to reinforce the vision of the Rise campaign and to guide people through the commitment process.
